This skill level is for individuals of all ages that can follow directions, mix and measure independently. Children under 12 attending a Workshop must be accompanied by an adult sharing the project for an additional fee. Our workshops are available for a full calendar year.

Baking Inside and Out with Dr. Dara Brener, MD, FACP Medical Director for Stonybrook Community Medicine

This workshop takes a deeper look into the human body. After making homemade whole grain focaccia bread, Dr. Brener will provide a power point presentation about how the bread is broken down in the human body. We are taking the wonderful world of baking one step further! Then enjoy making a sandwich with homemade white bean & garlic hummus, grilled chicken, lettuce, and tomato. Plus, making some fun healthy snacks to enjoy in class with friends or take home.

Meet Chef Chris!

"I'm originally from Long Island, but I moved into the city after college where I attended the Institute of Culinary Education.

I grew up cooking alongside my mom, and from there sprouted a passion for the culinary arts. It's my goal to teach people how to use foods in unexpected ways, and make cooking not seem like a chore!

Cooking is about expression and creativity, and is an outlet everyone has in common."

Cancelations with 24 hours or more notice:
   Refunds will not be given, but if you are unable to attend the paid workshop and notify us 24 hours prior to the start of the workshop, you will receive a gift card credit towards a future workshop.

Cancellations less than 24 hours:  We are unable to provide a Refund or Credit and you will be responsible for payment.   We can provide you with the pre-measured dry ingredients and an instructional video or recording of the workshop.
