The Baking Coach® not only creates delicious Baking Activity Kits, but we exist to make the lives of those differently abled sweeter! We support those who are differently abled by providing Supported Skill Workshops in our Bellport kitchen. We also provide employment opportunities to those in the neurodiverse community. By At this time over 40% of the Baking Coach workforce will be those differently abled. Our goal is to provide as many possible jobs as possible and to grow it from here!

National Disability Employment Awareness Month!
Did you know that October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)? Every October, this campaign is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). During NDEAM, people are encouraged to be educated about disability employment issues and celebrate American workers with disabilities. While the goal of NDEAM is to educate and celebrate those working with disabilities, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment really works to have organizations of all sizes and industries participate in NDEAM. Tips From the US Office of Disability Employment on How Your Organization Can Celebrate!
1. Review Workplace Policies: This month is a perfect to read all of the policies in place and make sure that they are supportive of an inclusive workplace. If policies need to be altered, try discussing with employees on how things can be improved or check out askearn.org to learn more.
2. Educate your employees: This whole month is about educating people on the differently abled people within our workforce. So take some time this month to educate your employees on National Disability Employment Awareness Month and how they can help fellow employee who may be differently abled. You can create a display in your office or have a company wide meeting discuss the month.
3. Create posts on social media about NDEAM: You can post to any social media to raise awareness or discussing what is happening to you company to raise awareness. Using hashtags such as: #NDEAM and #inclusion can help to gain traction of your post
